The gardens of Totnes take part in The Big Dig UK, 2013. 

Totnes Development Trust (TDT) is a community owned and led company limited by guarantee with charitable status. It is also a full member of the Development Trusts Association, now merged with bassac (British Association of Settlements & Social Action Centres) and renamed as Locality. To meet the needs of the Totnes community, TDT offers financial and project management skills to help local groups deliver projects to support economic, environmental and social regeneration, working in partnership with other community organisations and local authorities.

Landmatters is a rural Permaculture Project working within Devon to promote landbased communal living.

We raise children, plants, food, trees, goats, chickens and aim to live responsibly and lightly in our world.

The Parsonage Gardens is a teaching space

for all aspects of kitchen gardening.



Set in an historic 1800's high walled garden, this reclaimed 1/4 acre site has:

12 vegetable beds ; 40 ft. herb border ; partially restored Victorian cucumber frame with asparagus patch and soft fruits to be added this year.

Arresting and innovative plant combinations,

advice on design, simple construction, plant choices and care.

Guest workshops in country skills and cooking days.
